He has been singing professionally since the age of 16, and was a hit with the group 'The Witnesses'. In 1972 he got the role of Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar in Dublin. He then moved to the London production of the show, staying for two and a half years. He then recorded Che on the concept album of Evita. As Colm C.T. Wilkinson he reached with his own song "Born to sing" on the 22nd April 1978 at the 23rd annual "Eurovision Song Contest"in Paris (Palais de Congres) the 5th place for Ireland. The role that brought him the most fame was the original Valjean in Les Mis, but he played the Phantom in Toronto for nearly five years. He has recently been touring with a concert of the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber. Colm is married and has four children.
