>1 #Sg# Tiswas presents: Matthew Butler and The Four
Bucketeers // Bright eyes / [ CBS 9096 ]
Bright eyes
(Mike Batt)
We are the four Bucketeers (John Gormann)
Matthew Butler, born 1977 in Penkridge,
also known as Matthew Lewis
He was quite possibly the most famous four year old in the nation. The
reason for this is that he spent his Saturday mornings not actually
watching television, but participating in it. For he was the legendary
youngster who appeared every week on the Chris Tarrant-led gunge tank
fesitval that was "Tiswas", wearing an oversized rabbit costume and
'singing' a very off-key and dodgily-pronounced rendition of Art
Garfunkel's horrendously drippy "Watership Down" theme 'Bright Eyes'. "How
canta light that burrrds so bwightly suddenly burd so peeel?", enquired
young Matthew every week. The question posed by 'Art' was quite probably
never supposed to be answered in the first place. However, seeing as the
main competition to "Tiswas" was John Craven introducing "a look at some
of Britain's disappearing wildlife" and Noel Edmonds holding a telephone,
many viewers decided that they would keep watching, no matter how dimly
the lyrical light may have been 'burding'.

> #mSg# Bucks Fizz // I
hear talk // [RCA]
1. - I hear talk (Andy Hill / Peter Sinfield) / produced &
arranged by Andy Hill
2. - Pulling me under (Bobby G) / produced by Bobby G
3. - Invisible (Andy Hill / Mike Batt) / a Big Note Production
Notes & lyrics from Steve Bolton. Thank You, Steve!
The song was originally recorded by Bucks Fizz in 1983, and was intended
to be released as a single in Autumn 1983. However, Jay Aston sings lead
vocal on the track and she became unpopular within the group in the summer
of 1983 for having an affair with their producer, Andy Hill. Andy Hill's
wife was the manager of Bucks Fizz, and she decided that she didn't want
Jay Aston to play a major part in the group anymore. Therefore the single
was scrapped and a new song without Jay on lead vocals - called 'London
Town' - was released instead, and Invisible was finally released as
a 12"-only bonus track at the end of 1984.
The song is now available on the remastered Bucks Fizz 'I Hear Talk'
CD released in July 2004.
